NCDownloader User Guide*

NCDownloader is a universal PC burning tool for XX. It can be used on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10 operating systems.

Currently, this tool supports firmware burning for GX8002, GX8003, GX8009, GX8008/GX8008C series.

The burning interface supports two interfaces: UART and USB.

GX8002 and GX8003 only support UART burning.

GX8009 and GX8008/GX8008C support both UART and USB burning.

The ncdownloader_vx.x tool is stored in the NCDownloader directory of the download link (http://yun.nationalchip.com:10000/l/nFkgjq)

If using the serial port download method and using our provided serial board or development board, you may need to install the USB to serial driver on Windows.

If prompted for a driver, confirm which type of chip is being used by checking the device manager, then download and install the corresponding driver.

If using USB burning, you need to install the corresponding USB driver on Windows. The installation details will be explained in the USB Installation Instructions section.

2. Burning Instructions*

2.1 Serial Port Burning*

2.1.1 Serial Port Burning for GX8002*

Note

When burning GX8002, it is recommended to configure the settings as shown in the following images. Pay attention to the Serial Port selection. If your computer has multiple serial devices connected, choose the correct serial port number from the dropdown menu. You can check which device corresponds to which serial port number in the device manager. Follow the prompts to power on and power off GX8002 once.

  • Configure the parameters

  • Click Start to begin burning

  • Burning completed

2.1.2 Serial Port Burning for GX8008*

2.2 USB Burning*

Note

USB burning requires driver installation. Refer to 3. USB Driver Installation for driver installation instructions. Use a USB cable with data transfer capability. Some cheap USB cables may only support charging and not data transfer. During the burning process, after the prompt, continuously hold the Boot pin of GX8008/GX8008C (pulling the pin to low level), then reset GX8008/GX8008C once. Release the Boot pin when the burning interface with the progress bar appears.

3. Driver Installation*

Note

Driver installation is not required for burning GX8002. Only USB burning requires this driver installation.

3.1 USB Installation Instructions*

Extract usb_driver.zip, inside there is a driver_install directory. Please read install.pdf and follow the instructions for driver installation.

If the driver is not installed, when powering on with the Boot pin held, a device with an exclamation mark will appear as shown below.

4. Common Burning Issues and Solutions*

4.1 Firmware Path Contains Spaces, Chinese Characters, or Special Symbols*

As shown in the image above, an error occurs [ERROR] Unknow cmd download 0 "E:/....

When selecting the Bin File, the path where the firmware is stored should not contain Chinese characters, spaces, or special symbols such as ';'. Otherwise, the program will not be able to find the correct path for the firmware.

4.2 Start Address Issue*

As shown in the image above, if the default value 0 of the Start Addr in the configuration page is modified to another address, although the firmware burning is successful, the program will not function properly. Unless there are specific requirements, there is no need to modify this item.

4.3 Serial Port Baud Rate Issue*

Setting the baud rate too high may cause burning failure. Try lowering the Serial Baudrate appropriately and burn again.
